rar files

greets 2all,how can i open rar files using red-hat/mandrake?and djvu files.thnx in advance.

Re: rar files

Under Linux and UNIX, use command called unrar. By default unrar is not being installed on Linux, FreeBSD or UNIX oses. You can install unrar command with the help of apt-get or yum command.

For the djvu, I never tried it but I found this http://djvu.sourceforge.net/

If u are not familiar with commands and resolving dependencies ...or installing rpms...

Better u go for windows environment on linux

U have to get Wine packages for your linux (redhat, ubuntu /etc etc)
and install them ...

After installation ...you can install any exe files in linux...
means install winrar software and unrar your files...

AFAIK the standart repo of red-hat doesn't contain rar due to licensing concerns.
But perhaps https://freshrpms.net/ has the rar or unrar paket for your distro.
