Hi All:

I am doing trasient analysis in Pspice,

and I want to know how can I calculate the dessipated power for a component?

Mathematically I think I need to do integration for a period before dividing by the period time...

But,... is there a convenient way to do these in pspice?

Seems power meter is used only for AC analysis?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

the easiest way I suppose is using a spice "measure" to calculate the rms current of Idd. Google "spice rms current" and you should get what you want. Of course after getting the simulation result for the current, you need to multiply it with the value of the power supply to get the average power dissipation.

Hope this help,
Regards,
Giorgos
