How are codes on a mobile phone top-up cards generated?

Whenever I reacharge my pre-paid mobile account, I use a 13-digit seemingly random number. How are these numbers generated? Any algorithms in specific?

Hi,
Yes the number sequences are generated by an algorithm of sorts. Hoever the sequence is usually generated by a pseudo noise sequence (thus random) and then filtered to assure correctness.

To ensure that the codes are not faked a database of valid codes are kept. Once the pin code is recieved by the telco the code is verified and marked as used. The same sequence is usually not reused but this may be done after some time (say 5years)

As the PIN (Personal Identification Number) name suggests it is Personal or Private Or secret for AEverybody .

It has Some Coding algorithm named PNS or PNsequence or Pseudo Noise Sequence where it creates a sequence of number which will seem to other person as a noise, But the service provider already know the number as these numbers are already registered with the fixed cell number .

That's why no body else can use the same number for activation.
