hostid change, invalid suffix

Hi,
I used the source code in page https://www.edaboard.com/threads/5989/ to change my hostid to 000C29F1343D, but it dose not works. The message is "changehostid.c:11:17: error: invalid suffix "C29F1343D" on integer constant".
How can I solve this problem.
My OS is Redhat 5.

I think you needn't to change it.
If you want to change it. It should have 12 characteristic.
