I'm trying to find a design for a homemade LED light bar flasher for my truck. I have the LED modules but need a unit that can control the order that the lights flash in. I would like to have control so that I can make them flash left to right, right to left, and to all blink on and off. There will be eight LED modules in all. Any help would be much appreciated.
I mean being able to choose the sequence. My preference would be a three position switch, one position being left to right, another being right to left, etc.
This is what I mean by LED module. I have eight of these modules. They have three LEDs in each which are wired in series. **broken link removed**
How would I go about building/buying/programming one of these micro controllers of which you speak?
Let me know if you need more info, and thanks much for your time and expertise!
Do you have any basic in doing programming of microcontroller?
If no, you need to spend a lot of time in studying the code or language, compiler, the hardware and programming software, you could find a lot of info in Google just type in e.g "8051", (this is what I am using now).
If you have basic in doing the above topic, then it is much more easier, just three in put and eight output, you will get all you need.
But seems your LED is tied three in series, so they will be lighted up together in each module.
You can also look for me at pro_manic@yahoo.com if you think you want to find those programmed microncontroller.
How are the modules to be used? Do you wish to light each module or each LED in the module?
What is the power requirement for the LED's (Voltage and current)?
Hmm...I'm starting to think this is a little more complicated and involved than I originally expected. I don't think I want to purchase this kind of equipment for a one time project. Thank you very much for your help but I think I might find a pre-built flasher unit to use.
Yup, Tahmid is right, why I recomended you microcontroller in earlier post is because you could safe up more components and easy to setup. It is possible to use the combination of a fes IC's, but it will consumpt more space and more complicated in theier connections.
if you want i can give u circuit , as police led flasher is my favourite project,i did alot research on it, also used in my bike and car ....they are awsm attention catchers
