This compressor was made of a fridge aggregate. There are many similar construction on the Internet, so when you need more specific information, it can be found easily.
Main assumptions of the design were:
- the device should be rather quiet
- relatively small
- safe
- aesthetic construction
The compressor pumps from 0 to 8 bar within about 9 minutes. Pressure control operates in the range of 6-8 bar and additional pumping takes about 9 minutes.
Elements used:
- aggregate
- bottle of a fire extinguisher
- regulator with the water separator
- pressure control
- check valve
- safety valve
- Festo manometer
- quick Rectus
- fuel filter
- 1,5mm sheet metal for housing
- others such as elbows, nipples, tee, tubing
The whole was painted with Hammerite. Remember to wait until it dries, unless you want to have scratches in the lacquer. The fridge compressor heats up while constant work, so the supply was passed through a thermostat 70 degrees Celsius glued to the aggregate housing. It is good to add a handle for easier moving the device.
