I simulated a simple dipole antenna in HFSS. When I wanted to look Zin in Smith chart it gave me this coordinate sistem. If I want to see S11 in smith chart the cookrinate sistem is good. Why?
If you plot the S11 in the smith chart you also can get the Zin values. There isn't a different S11 and Zin plot, they are the same.
I think if you plot the Zin in the smith chart in HFSS it calculates the magnitude and phase of Zin and tries to plot it into the smith chart which won't work well since the magnitude is often larger than one.
