HFSS excitations

halo i am really confused any one please tell me in simple words the difference between using lumped port and wave port .

HFSS excitations

reference the help file.it is more clear about the difference.

HFSS excitations

If waveports and lumped ports are setup correctly you should get exactly the same answer - if you are only solving for one mode and renormalising to 50 ohms anyway. If you use a 50 ohm lumped port you should get the same answers. The main difference is that a lumped port needs to go on an object that is literally drawn between your conductor and your ground, not the large area you use with a waveport.
