Here's the scenario.
5 audio channels.
2 up/down buttons.
1 LCD.
1 volume control.

LCD displays all channels as:
Channel 1
Channel 2
Channel 3
Channel 4
Channel 5

Using the up/down key I select the channel and then using the volume knob increase or decrease its volume. The volume knob is unmarked so, it will work for all channels.

Thanks.

What methodology or design is best suited for such an application.

Hi,

* digial encoder for "volume knob"
* microcontroller
* SPI or I2C controlled audio volume control

good luck

Klaus
