Help with FUJI IGBT's

a50l-0001-0125.jpgA50L-0001-0175_M.jpgI scavenged a few IGBT's from old CNC machines that my company decommissioned and dumped in scrap metal bin.
There are 2 modules 6DI120A-060 (6x120A 600V) and 3 modules 6DI50A-060 (6x50A 600V).
I tried looking for datasheets for these modules, but there nothing, except for one written in Chinese.

All I would like to do is learn how to switch them on and off. I tried to do it the same way as that guy on YouTube does it but I had no success.
What am I going to use them for ? Well, I do not know, something that can switch 120A will come handy for something cool one day :smile:

I would appreciate if somebody can give me some idea on how to do this
 

Are you sure they are IGBT's? It looks more like a diode pack to me. IGBT's usually have one or more small leads for 0.110" slip-on terminals instead of the large power leads I see on those. A six-pack IGBT would have at least 6 0.110" terminals (or even 12 0.110" terminals).

Hey, I was totally wrong. It is a bipolar transistor module, not IGBT. You can get the schematic for a similar device (DI100A-050). Since it's a darlington transistor you have to feed it base current (12V power supply through a 5 or 6 ohm power resistor - positive to base, negative to emitter) to turn it on, not apply gate voltage. You'll need about 2 A of base current to get the device fully turned on. Good luck and have fun.
 

Thank you very much Steve ! Now it all makes perfect sense. I was suspicious when I noticed that there is no smaller terminals, but I still called them IGBT's because I could not find any information on them.
They came out of some really old equipment, probably long before IGBT's were invented.
I will do some experimenting later to make sure that I can turn them on and off, then I have to figure out what kind of project to use them in.
