[HELP] RPM meter with inductive pickup

i want to create an RPM meter for motorcycle, using inductive pickup that wounded around spark plug cable on a motorcycle... i got this schematic

it says that the output can be conected directly trough µCrontroller, but i don't understand how to read it on µCrontroller... could anyone help me ?!
im using AVR ATmega32... here is the scematics *.sch [eagle]
 

Hi

According to the circuit the 555 produce a pulse for every spark - use external interrupt input in your micro controller to advance a software counter for every interrupt received
