I am a embedded student and hope to get into the device driver programming .

which will be better for starting , and how to start with what?can anyone help with giving me a brief reply ,how and with what like windows or with linux since the source code can be easier to get.if any ebooks are there which co'd help me kindly give me link

For windows you'll need the DDK (Windows Driver Development Kit), also Microsoft press has a book "The windows driver model" that explains all.

For linux, well.. I think it's easier and there're enough information.
 

The definitive book for driver programming is "Programming the Windows Driver Model" by Walter Oney. You may take a look at his website at **broken link removed**

The Microsoft Press one is other... hahaha
