hello everyone,
I dont have very good chemistry back ground since i have left it 3years ago. I want to know the relation btw concentration and mole fraction. Allow me to explain the problem.

Consider that you are given a one cubic big box consisting of Nitrogen gas in it initially. It is required to make the box contain a mixture of Nitrogen and Oxygen with the mole fraction of 0.3. Now the question is what is the concentration(cm-2/m-2) of Oxygen which has to be applied or feed to the box to create that mole fraction?

Thank you.

Doesn't 1 mole of gas have a specific volume at a specific temperature? I think it does. Assuming I'm correct, you will need 0.7 cm2 of Nitrogen and 0.3 cm2 of Oxygen.

In other words, Oxygen's concentration in volume needs to be 0.3 cm2/cm2.

I'll leave the unit conversion to you.
