Hello,

I need to know if it is possiable to 12vdc square wave signal to a 0-5 volt dc signal? If it does someone have scematic for it, or better yet does anyone know if anyone makes such an converter.

Thanks

Eric

What frequency are you working at?

is it 0-12V to 0-5V you want to convert?

If so an open collector buffer is what your after.

In low-power applications to reduce the magnitude of a square wave from 12V to 5V simply use a resistor along with a couple of diodes conncted between signal line and Vcc/GND .. see attached picture ..

Another option, remove D1 and replace D2 with 5.1V(4.7V) Zener Diode ..

IanP
