Hi Guys

Can anyone pls help me in selecting a development board for developing doing robotics stuff on them, not industrial robots. Should i go for a fpga development board or a microcontroller based development board.

initially i would like to interface them with some radio control stuff, later would like to add image processing as well... i want to do the programming in C/vhdl

i went thrugh several websites realted to robotics and the most common micro controllers were parallax, avr, etc... i am wondering why microcontrollers from motoroller are not in so common. can some help me in selecting a right one for this idea.

thanks in advance.
tama

hi,

I suggest you to select an FPGA development board. With microcontroller you can't do
stuff like you want.

initially i would like to interface them with some radio control stuff, later would like to add image processing as well... i want to do the programming in C/vhdl

As I know, with a microcontroller you can't do image processing!

you can check some development FPGA board kits to : FPGA and CPLD Solutions from Xilinx, Inc.
