hello .. please help me in me graduation project

it is about :

i want to drive a stepper motor using matlab GUI


now the first thing i need to do is to deal with the port which will be connected to stepper motor through cables

now please tell me .. do i have to deal with serial port or parallel port ?
and how to draw the serial or parallel port in the GUI ?
how to program the port using GUI ?

please help me ..

Did you really click on the link?

Although you can interface to any port depending upon your needs, the link referred to Serial Port.
