The question from kiprono meant your input voltage is AC or DC into the psu?
Putting it otherwise, you operate it from the mains or from a DC source?
In case you feed it from the mains, here is a circuit for a linear psu:

If you do not have 120V AC mains voltage in your country but have 220-240V, then the transformer T1 should be chosen accordingly.
If you wish to build a switch mode power supply instead of the above linear one, here is one possibility out of many:

In this case the input voltage should be any DC between 5V - 36V and efficiency is over 90% or so, no need for big heat sink area, unlike in case of the above linear psu circuit. (So any mains transformer of 10V-24V AC output @5A with rectifier bridge and a suitable puffer cap should do.)
