I connected the GSM module with desktop through UART. It was working fine while i using hyperterminal. But after some time it didn't reply on any AT command. After writing the command, if i pressed ENTER , the pointer would go back to first position. I have checked the box "detect carrier loss" in hyperterminal,it showed the warning message "does not found com1. please check port setting ".Then i used others COM port like COM2,COM3 but the reply was same.I also used putty but there was no difference.

regards

Try Restarting both the system & modem after disconnecting all connections.

Thanks for reply.I uninstall the com port & also connect the module in another PC . But the result is same.

A matter of terminal setting in hyperterminal and modem echo settings.
I have checked the box "detect carrier loss" in hyperterminal
Why?
"does not found com1. please check port setting "
Would never happen with a regular COM-port. May be you are using a faulty USB-to-COM bridge?

what cable you are using to communicate with PC is it serial cable or any serial to usb converter cable.check the cable driver installed correctly. and what is your last at command you used with gsm?

I uninstall the hyperterminal and install it again and also used putty. So what the terminal setting should be?
I don't know actually "detect carrier loss" do.
No,i use RS 232 cable which has the setting of COM port in both ways.

I am using serial cable only, not serial to USB converter cable. My last at command was "ATD my phone no ;".

terminal setting means your baurd rate ,stop bit, data bits, parity bit, flow control should be correct.

Please check cable again with other device or PC make sure it is working fine and real serial com port always detect good.and just for debuging check your gsm modem with micro controller with ttl connection to be sure it is working.

On wild guess check your sim holder and try with different sim card.
