GNSS principle of positioning

Hello,
I don't understand the principle of determining the first GNSS reciever position - it has been said there are three satellites required. But the intersection of three spheres are TWO POINTS (or can be just one point in special cases).

I would agree if there were four satellites required -> one intersection point.
