Glitches in crystal oscillator output

The sinusoid output of crystal oscillator is converted to square wave with a comparator. I want to know if there is a possibility of glitches at the output of crystal oscillator.
 

hoping that you are talking about the sinusoidal wave part.... it wont have glitches... sometimes higher harmonic freq terms may occur but their amplitude will be low...

Higher harmonic terms are not only low in amplitude but also they can be suppressed by subsequent comparator when designed with proper bandwidth.

But I worry if there are any chances of getting glitches at comparator output .. say due to supply noise or sudden decrease in negative resistance of resonator.

Glitches are not a problem as already indicated. To be double sure check grounding.

There will not be glitches in crystal oscillator output .This is mainly because of the crystal modelling supporting only fundamental frequency.The glitches on comparator output should not be a problem because of rail to rail swing of output of comparator resulting in vdd and gnd two levels for comparator identified as 1 and 0.Because of supply glitches 1 and 0 level is not going to change.
