This might be a stupid question but is it possible to generate
a -5v supply from a op amp supplied with 5v for V+ and 0v for
V-?

Thanks.

Inverting op amp

You cannot generate -5V from an opamp if it doesn't have a power supply which includes -5V or lower. You can generate -5V from +5V using a switching regulator, or capacitive voltage inverter.
