Hello,

What are the general criteria for selecting a straight or right angle connector?

HPB

A right angle connector suits narrow spaces better.

It is less likely to pop out when the cable is yanked.

Well for starters, the requirements dictated by the use case for the connector.

Insertion/removal force, number of connect/disconnect cycles before failure, maximum current per pin/connector, maximum voltage, material, etc. I don't think there is a general criteria it's all dependent on your system requirements.
