For DFE(decision feedback equalization),does it require that the input data of DFE being eye opened? I mean some small opening like Vpk2pk=100mV so that DFE can make decision. Or it does not require the eye opened but after the summing node the eye should be opened.

Thanks!

I am doing related modeling nowadays. As to me , when the quality of channel pretty bad , the eye of the input to the DFE is nearly closed , it can restore the original signal. But I also have problems of blind equalization without training sequence , my model seems not to work at all. If u know more about this, we can talk the details.
