If LO signals for a transceiver are provided by the outputs of first divider stage of the synthesizer instead of the VCO, is it still needed to buffer the outputs of VCO or one can connect the VCO directly to the divider? Any best practices? Is direct AC coupling sufficient?

The VCO and divider i am using is LC and injection locked respectively.

I want to save some area used by the buffer, if possible.

if the frist divider will not load the VCO or will change the output amplitude and frequency so the buffer will be nesesary , but if not , u will need to add a buffer after the divider to be able to use the LO with mixer and other Tx RX block

khouly
