Frequency Response of Analog Multiplier in Cadence

Hi,

i am an electronic enginnering student and i am designing a four-quadrant analog multiplier for the graduation project.

i want to know how i measure frequency response for two inputs in virtuoso. yes, for one inputs it's simple but in more than one input, i do not know how i can measure the frequency response of multiplier for each input. can anyone help me?

If this is a non-clocked multiplier, try transitions of input combinations with values which you consider worst case (depends on design architecture; probably values at or near the quadrant borders). Then run transient analyses - with the propagation time from transition to a correct result you can calculate the frequency response.

For a clocked multiplier, run clock ac analyses for such w.c. input combinations - here you can see directly the upper frequency limit for a correct result.

In such case an STA (Static Timing Analyzer) software tool would be more appropriate for this task, of course. It would find the paths for w.c. input combinations resp. transitions of such combinations automatically.

Hi,
You can measure two or more frequency responses using "xf" analysis in Virtuoso ADE L window..
it will give the frequency responses of more than one source..
