rx sensitivity calculation

in 2-4GHZ range and with data rate of 4Mbps (BW=4MHZ) and QPSK modulation ,what is the best PRACTICAL receiver sensitivity thay we can achieve?

can we design a receiver with -110dB sensitivity?

what is the formula for RX sensitivity calculation?

receiver sensitivity formula

A general formula for sensitivity level for any type of receiver is:
RX_Sens(dBm) = –174(dBm) + 10*LOG[BW(Hz)] + NF(dB) + S/N(dB)
 

7rots51 all you have to do is recognize that the S/N
ratio, in the equation given by Borber, depends
on the modulation(in your case, QPSK) and the
level of error you will want it to be. In others words,
for example for a Pe=10^-6 ( one bit error in a
million) the S/N ratio required could be 15 dB, by the
the table or by the equation of Pe=f(S/N).
