It's not for the 8051, but check out SystemC (free download).

Its sc_fx library does fixed point math, even when used in stand-alone programs without using the rest of SystemC.

The fixed-point version of ITU-T reference code of some codecs might be helpful.
They impelment basic operation using fixed-point c functions.
