i'm looking for the right ADC for an DSO

with required amplitude of 1mv - 5v

what formula or what computation can be made to find to right ADC's freq. bits,.. etc:?:

The frequency is in worse case = (2 * sample_frequency_signal), but I suggest 4 times (or more). In your case you have to use a 16 bit ADC, because a 12 bit give you
(5V / 2^12) = 1.22mV. With the frequency you pretend to sample use the national finder: **broken link removed**

What is DSO ? and how is its maximal input frequency ? The system cares static or dynamic performance ?

Yibin.

DSO = Digital Storage Oscilloscope that implies in dynamic performance ... for reproduce square waves with high slew rate you have to sample at higher frequencies. All depend of your target error...... and your processor choose ....
