Final Year Project (DIPLOMA LEVEL)

Hi, i am currently in diploma level. I have to come out with a final year project using the PIC 16/18 series. I am completely new and have no idea where to start as i dont even know what can PIC do... Please help with some ideas of projects... I am desperate... Search high and low but still empty... thanks!
