FDTD Wave Propagation

Hi,

Does anyone know if FDTD can be used for wave propagation after the wave has already been propagated through a closed-form expression for some distance? For example, I want to initiate a FDTD propagation technique for 5 m, after already employing a closed-form expression for 15 m.

Hi

Yes you can calculat the far field from teh near field, you can uses Hygens surface to do this

Yes it is possible. You determine and apply your initial condition after 15 seconds
