Hi All,

I am trying to do monte carlo simulation on a particular block using cadence 6.1.4. I intend to exclude/include some specific devices only for the simulation and have been trying to use the "specify instances/devices" feature in the monte carlo form..
But i am unable to select any devices from it. I am using the schematic mode of it. It highlights the devices on the schematic but populates nothing in the "choice" field in the form. There's no error in the cIW window as well..
Can anybody pls help me understand why this could be happening..

MC is pretty much globally applied to a particular device
type. At the transistor level there is no lower hierarchy,
the spectre stop-view is found and that's it. Unless you
add views to the stop-list, from which the hierarchy
editor can choose.

For example you might make a cmos.sch view under
your favorite library nmos device, and attach it to a
Spectre model where all of the variables' sigma terms
are zeroed / made unity (adder or multiplier, variously).
That would mean messing with CDFs and of course
access to the lower levels of the PDK would be needed.
