I want to design a switch for commuting two fast ethernet cables for one port.
The scheme is like this:

Code:
PHY 1 ----> Transformer --->
                             \
                               Switch  ---> Transformer ---> RJ45 connector
                             /
PHY 2 ----> Transformer --->

I want to avoid using a relay for the switch.
I have some Pericom analog switches that are used for this proporse but I think that they must be used between the PHYs and the transformer. The devices are PI3L301DA.
Can I inject a DC signal to the transfomer to clamp the ethernet signal so that I could use the Pericom gates? And how about the impedances of the ethernet signal? Should I terminate the signal with proper resistors?
