Hi,
I'm doing an automotive design which has a 1000Base-T1 interface. While selecting the ESD suppression devices, I'm concerned about the proper choice of the device and its location.
I saw device PESD2ETH1G-T with operation start voltage ~100V
I’m concerned if this type of device is suitable for locating close to connector side and whether BCI ( Bulk Current Injection) Tests will cause any communication drops.
I’m checking the possibility of placement architecture -> PHY-CMC-AC capacitors-Termination Resistors Network- ESD protection-Connector
Is there any way to know the relation between Bulk current injection test levels and induced voltage on the lines, to know if the ESD device will get activated.
If any experience on similar design, suggestions will be most helpful.
I'm considering the location close to connector because it can improve reliability of the termination resistors.
