Hi to all, here comes a stupid basic question.

Let us say that we have a simple traditional microstrip line (i.e. strip + substrate + ground plane). Now, here it is clear how the electromagnetic field goes.

What happens if i insert a conductive sheet inside the dielectric substrate? (i.e. from top to bottom: conductive strip, portion of dielectric, conductive sheet, another portion of dielectric, ground plane). I must point out that the conductive sheet is floating (i.e., not connected either to the strip or to the ground). How does the field change?

Thanks a lot for your help to this silly question. I'm a newbie
