i am working on soft switching converter. i simulated the hard switching boost converter and soft switching boost converter in psim.
while measuring the efficiency ((vout*iout)/(vin*iin)) , the efficiency of hard switching converter is more than the soft switching converter.
can any body tell the solution hoe to measure the converter efficiency in simulation?

The effciency expression seems to be correct.

In addition to overall effciency, you can measure the instantaneous power of each circuit component and average it to determine individual power dissipation. So you can find out the reason for effciency differences.

You would expect the hard (faster?) switching converter to be more efficient than the soft (slower?) switching due to lower switching losses. So what is your concern?

I guess, this describes the problem of the present "soft switching" design. But it's not what soft switching usually means. It's a topology where transistor and diode capacitances are charged/discharged by reactant circuit elements instead of the transistors itself.
