I was referring to VFC data sheet https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/ADVFC32.pdf.
Fig.1 shows the connection diagram for positive input to VFC. What would have if I accidentally connect negative voltage(say -10V).
Will it damage the IC? If yes , then please suggest the method to protect it from negative inputs?
Usually the data sheet will have Absolute Maximums called out, but this one doesn’t. But they do specify ”Safe input voltage” (never seen that before) as +/- Vs. Adding a diode from the input to -Vs will protect from excessive negative input.
