If you're building a circuit with it's own power supply that takes an 120VAC power cord through the chassis, and the chassis is made of all plastic, what would you do with the earth ground wire? Is it safe enough to tie or cut it back?

making ground of your circuit is important , to protect your device from static charge which may damage it .
