the id of irf9540 is about 23 ampere and vds is 100v,is it possible to draw 23 ampere.plz explain in bit detail along with calculation of ambient temperature.thnx

At a temperature of 25°C, the MOSFET will be destroyed after about 100uS. At higher temperatures destruction is faster.
