Hi,
Since silicon diode has higher cutin voltage you need to amplify the RF before rectification, unless probably you are very near to a radio station. Otherwise, only Germanium diodes will work.

Laktronics.
Thanks, I have herd people say that Germanium is better, some say Silicon is better, and some say that it doesn't matter. We do have a local station I will try to build for and see if it works.
Where we can find 1N34 germanium diodes, because most distributors only sell silicon diodes?
I'm asking this because I've seen 1N34 used as detector in microwave circuits (detector placed in a waveguide), and i want to experiment with microwave at hobby level.
