i dun really think so ...wat abt if we give 3v suply to a rectifying diode ??

yess ...sometimes we get confused with the equation but it always works .....we tried joining 5v in a simple diode ...can u guess wat happened ?? ....the source frm vcc automatically changed to 1.24v ..n diode got burned n wire were heated as well ....so the supply volatge must always b equal to voltage dropn in circuit ...if not then u b sure you r doing sth wrong
