Hi, I am trying to monitor the output of an optical incremental rotary encoder. And I would just like to ask if the encoder will output a PWM signal with constant frequency when I apply a PWM signal with also constant frequency and duty cycle? Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, the incremental encoder have ABZ-Outputs which are coded to see if the rotaltion is forward or backward, and when it passes the defined zero point. The frequency depends on the speed of the rotation or linear motion.
Here you find more details and application on interfacing encoders to microcontrollers: **broken link removed** or https://ichaus.biz/product/iC-MD .

Enjoy your design work!
