Would you please explain the meaning of this quote from edison clearly?

“Hell, there are no rules here — we're trying to accomplish something.”

Like blue sky research as they call it these days. Not hidebound by red tape or strict procedures that tend to stifle imagination. At least that's my opinion!.
 

It means that the single consideration is: If it works, it is good.
