I've made it once ago, You can refer the specification of AXI dmac at arm.com

I think AHB dmac is easier than AXI dmac. I suggest you that design ahb dmac and than change its wrapper.

the functions of AXI dmac are not the same with AHB dmac, but there is no functional problem.
