hi guys i did not know what part of the forum it would come under
i am wanting to upgrade to a digital storage oscilloscope i intend to use it for digital circuit and analog circuit and circuits in the medium rf range i am not sure what suctions to look for so if someone could suggest a model or brand i want to keep it to 400 to 1000 dollars

2.5GHz? You are talking serious money now. At these frequencies, it is better to get a spectrum analyzer. I picked up a used 9kHz-22GHz analyzer with tracking generator for under $2000.
I also have a 2GHz digital scope that cost me way more than this. Also scopes at very high frequencies have 50 Ohm inputs and not the 10M Ohm impedance like general-purpose scopes. You will have to use an active probe with it to get the probe impedance up. My 3GHz HP active probe still only has 100k Ohm input impedance but very low input capacitance.
