Two Questions

Assalam O Alekum !

I want to ask two questions

1. What is the difference between oscillator and inverter
as both converts dc into ac?

2. What is the basic difference between a transistor amplifier and
a step up transformer as both increases the amplitude of the input?

Thankx

Re: Two Questions

Oscillator is a generalized term for an active circuit that produces a periodic waveform. Inverter is a specialized term for a system that contains an oscillator and produces large amounts of power(such as AC) from a source (like DC battery).

Amplifiers produce power gain. Transformers only produce voltage or current gain but not both. The output power is always less than the input power.
