what's the basic difference between SPDT pushbutton and SPST swtich?
 

An SPST switch controls a single pole or circuit and is either "on" or "off.

An SPDT pushbutton makes momentary contact from a single pole to a "normally open" contact, otherwise it connects the circuit to the "normally closed" contact.
