For line commutated current (LCC), it utilizes voltage source. However, voltage source coverter(VSC) uses current source.
I noticed that vsc utilizes the advanced power electronic devices for swutching than lcc. I don't understand why they have to replace the current source instead if voltage source for vsc.
What is the meaning of voltage source converter or current source converter?
