Hi,
In DC power line, the negative terminal of the supply is called as reference ground.
What is the difference between this ground and the chassis ground?

Thanks,
Murugesh

Hi Murugesh,

chassis ground is normally conneted to earth to protect people touching the case. Reference ground could be floating and isolated to the chassis ground through a transformer and is the return point of the current coming from the supply voltage(negative or positive voltage).

Enjoy your design work!
