1. Can anyone tell me the difference between ASIC gate count and FPGA size

i mean i am having 10 M ASIC gate count is equavalent to how much FPGA....

any formula is there to convert..

2. What is the difference design capacity of various Altera families like Startix II ,Cyclone, Cyclone II

Re: FPGA

1. I don't think you can find any formula to convert number of gates in an asic deisgn to the FPGA gate count. Because it depends on internal structure of building blocks in a specific FPGA. Also you will have differences based on FPGA vendors.

2. You can find more info on Altra Web Site.

FPGA

You can try to re-complie your ASIC design with altera/xilinx tools and compare
