hi every one i am confused ,what is analog circuit and digital circuit
analog circuit-analog component such as transistor, diode capacitor, inductor, resistor is use to create analog circuit

digital circuit- gates is made of analog component such as diode transistor

RTL - Resistor Transistor Logic.
DTL - Diode Transistor Logic.
TTL - Transistor Transistor Logic.
in both circuit same component is use to create circuit
someone explain me difference between analog and digital circuit

Anolog is continuous time circuit. i.e. for any instance you would have a certain value.

take an example of an analog voltmeter, which uses a needle to display the voltage values e.g. between 0 to 10 volts, and at any time you will will have a value between 0 and 10v.

A digital system is discrete time system. i.e. value are defined discretely. i.e. for the digital voltmeter 0 to 1 may have 10 intermediate values, i.e. you can display .1, .2, .3 etc but not .2147653.

In short the digital systems may use the same components but its the working that makes the difference. Digital systems uses digits/bits to communicate, while analog systems uses continuous voltages (voltages, etc.) to drive the system.

The transistor used in digital systems can be considered as (in a very basic way), a switch used to turn on of off a particular line/device.

In a digital circuit your signals will be something like ON/OFF. It is the binary system: 0s and 1s. You can transmit these signals in different speeds, from few Hz's up to many GHz's. As siddharthakala said, in analog systems you will have discrete signals, these are continuos (it doesn't mean the don't change) in time and can be any thing between -infinity and +infinity: 1,24235V, -7.56A, 0.2uA, 1,500,000V, etc.

Digital systems can have only two states the ON state or the OFF state. At the most they may have one more state that is called tristate or High Z state. On the other hand the analogue circuit can assume a very wide range of values and characteristics.

There is no difference, digital circuits are ultimately analog too. Like everything else.

We construct digital circuitry to behave as much 0<->1 vs. continuous voltages as if there's nothing in between, and use models that deal with 0<->1 logic equations as if that's the only thing that matters. For most practical uses that's enough & we 'get away' with that. But simply said you don't get the complete picture that way.

If you're new to digital circuitry and just wanna stick a few NAND gates together: forget what I just said.

The only difference is in the way we interpret those values.

In analog we would take the actual value. For eg: 5.423 V is taken as 5.423V. In other words it's continuous.

Whereas in digital for example, anything between 0V and 2.5 V will be taken as 0 and anything between 2.5V and 5V will be taken as 1. The advantage of digital circuit is that it reduces errors and also simplifies the interpretation of the signals.

thanks for helpful response can you explain any analog circuit which convert in digital circuit
you have any diagram which define difference between analog and digital circuit

We have analog to digital converters (ADC) and digital to analog converters (DAC) which perform the conversions from one to the other.

I would suggest you explore / learn the basics of digital electronics. This should clear most of your doubts.

There are many books and online material available. I would suggest Digital Electronics book by AK Maini.

hi guys this discussion s going on well...me too hav that doubt lik vead...

dude here u mentioned converters for analog and digital domain..,could you please make our doubt clear in circuit level..? why because is most of the answers or related to difference between analog and digital signals..it would be useful and clear if u tech people clear it in circuit level..thanks in advance..i am eagerly waiting for the rply of u all...

hi..
at circuit level if i will explain u by taking an example of chip;
in chip we always use so many transistor yet some times it called digital and some time analog why because some times we have less process inside a chip so we can create it manually. the time when we create it manually it's called as analog. if we are creating a chip having so many processes then we have to use some computer tools then it's known as digital..
i think it is clear now at circuit level.

thanks 4 ur immediate response kirteshmiet...its all fine..nice explanation...but vead and mine doubt is analog and digital systems are having internal circuits which is made up of similar components like transistors, resistors, capacitors etc...for your rememberence internal circuit of any computer chip or any chip is transistors and some sort of memories...why becoz is chip is made up of logic gates and those logic gates are made use of any one of the digital logics like TTL,RTL kind of technologies...and these technologies are using transistors and resistors..hope i explained my position..:?:
